Balance your hormones, ease stress, and get your pelvic floor ready before you start trying to conceive.
The preconception stage covers the months before conception, when there is time to address physical and lifestyle factors that can influence reproductive health. Care during this window is provided alongside your family physician, obstetrician, or fertility clinic — it complements medical treatment rather than replacing it.
Preparing for pregnancy can involve more than one system. This stage of care looks at how the pelvic floor, circulation, nutrition, and the stress response interact, and addresses relevant findings early. The aim is to support general readiness for conception while your medical and fertility care continues under your physician's direction.
Care here is coordinated with your existing team. Physiotherapy, acupuncture, and nutrition counselling are offered as complementary supports, and any recommendations are shared in the context of the plan set by your fertility or medical providers.
The pelvic floor is not always considered in a standard fertility workup, but it can be relevant. Restrictions related to past abdominal or pelvic surgery, endometriosis, or persistent pelvic floor tension may affect mobility and comfort in the pelvis. Endometriosis alone is estimated to affect roughly 1 in 10 women of reproductive age.
A registered pelvic health physiotherapist can assess the pelvic floor and surrounding tissues and, with your consent, use manual techniques and individualized exercises to help ease restrictions and reduce tension. This is one component of preconception preparation and is appropriate whether you are trying to conceive naturally or undergoing assisted reproduction. The Fertility Care service page outlines what an initial assessment involves.
Preconception care often combines a few supports side by side. Acupuncture is used by some people during this stage to support relaxation and help manage the stress response; it is offered alongside medical care, not in place of it. Individual responses vary, and it is not a treatment for infertility.
Nutrition counselling provides practical, non-restrictive guidance on dietary patterns associated with general reproductive and overall health during the preconception period. Together, pelvic floor physiotherapy, acupuncture, and nutrition form a coordinated set of supports that work with — not instead of — your medical fertility care.
Because the clinic cares for the whole household, the team supporting you now can continue through prenatal, postpartum, and later stages. This continuity means your history is already known as your needs change, and care can be adjusted without starting over with a new set of practitioners.

Book OnlineI went to my first pelvic floor therapy session at 28 weeks pregnant, not sure what to expect and could not have been happier with the outcome! I had terrible sciatic pain and the pelvic floor therapy has now completely eliminated that for over four weeks now! Arzoo Patel is amazing!
Our son James was diagnosed with hypotonia and plagiocephaly at just six months old, and the months that followed were some of the most challenging of our lives. But through it all Arzoo has been there with expertise, compassion and endless patience. Her dedication to James has been the difference maker in his journey. Thanks to her, he's now not only meeting his milestones, he's thriving. And while we've seen a number of specialists along the way, there is absolutely no doubt in our minds that James' progress is because of her. From the moment we met Arzoo, it was clear how deeply she cares about the children she works with. She's gentle, intuitive, and fiercely committed, the kind of therapist every parent hopes for but rarely finds. We are endlessly grateful for Arzoo's support and feel so lucky that she's part of James' journey. Simply put - she's an angel!
I see Arzoo for pelvic floor physiotherapy after two c-section deliveries, and she is terrific. She is so skilled and I enjoy her company while I'm there. Most importantly, I feel less pain immediately after seeing her, in my low back, my scar and pelvic bone. I highly recommend seeing Arzoo for postpartum pelvic floor physio.
